Walk the walls of the city’s old town

Follow the line of some England’s best – preserved medieval Town Walls. Walkers are guided around the encircling walls by a series of panels highlighting historic events and stories of the people who have shaped the city of Southampton. The Old Town is home to over 90 listed buildings, more than 30 ancient monuments, with medieval wine vaults, churches and many fine Georgian Houses and Museums.

Known as the cruise of Europe, Southampton is host to over 4 million visitors per year. This vibrant, diverse city is home to many museums, music venues, art galleries and world famous cultural and sporting events.

Southampton is the shopping hub on the south coast and one of the UK’s top 10 retail destinations. The city centre an IKEA store, impressive retail parks, plus boutique shopping for those looking for something a little different.

West Quay is one of two indoor shopping centres located in the heart of Southampton city centre, with 100 stores, big name brands, events, fantastic fashion a new food hall with a large variety of foods and dining experiences.

Get Up Close to the Ocean superliners       

Home of the Ocean Superliners April 1912, The RMS Titanic set out on her maiden voyage from Southampton which ended in unexpected tragedy.

Follow her story at the Maritime Museum, a few minutes from Town Quay. Discover the story of flight, the Supermarine factory Hall of Aviation and the legend that became the Spitfire.

Only a twenty minute walk from the terminal.

Take a trip on the Hythe Ferry, one of the best views of these Great Ships as you sail past them their home berth.

On your arrival at Hythe Pier you can jump on the worlds oldest electric train, which will transport you to the pier entrance at Hythe.
Hythe Pier Railway is Britain’s oldest continuously operating electric pier train, and has been awarded a certificate to that effect by the Guinness Book of World Records.
